Vision:
The Library Media Center is the hub of the school. A place where all are welcome to explore, create, and learn. "I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library." Jorge Luis Borges
Mission:
To support lifelong learning by instilling a love of reading, and providing an environment where all feel welcome to explore and discover. "Reading is a way for me to expand my mind, open my eyes, and fill up my heart" Oprah Winfrey
Library Policies:
The library is open every school day beginning at 8:05am. Students are also welcome to visit, on their own, before school and during recesses.
Classes visit the Library for a 40-minute session once a week for instruction and book checkout:
- Grade 3 may check out one book at a time (may change to two later in the year)
- Grade 4-5 students may check out two books at a time
- Books are checked out for two weeks, but may be renewed after that time
- Once a book is overdue the student will be unable to check out more books until the book is returned, renewed, or replaced/paid for (students may work off fines by helping out in the library during recess)
