Green Initiative Home

  • During the 2014–15 school year the Board approved its first Green Initiative brought forward by Jack Preston, Student Board Representative. Over the past few years, the Student Board Representative has reported to the Board the strategies implemented at each school site to reduce the carbon footprint in our schools. During the 2019-2020 school year, Student Board representative Joe Brawdy was asked to update the initiative. He met with student groups at the middle and high school and asked students to provide input to refine the previous initiative. In addition, Joe Brawdy presented the updated Green Initiative to the Equity, Culture, and Climate Committee which was received with overwhelming support. The Board adopted Resolution #19-22, The St. Helena Unified School District Green Initiative:  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, at the May 14, 2020, Regular Board Meeting
